EU Progression group

I just found this site and got hooked by your great idea about the progression groups. I am from EU (Germany), so I can't be with you in your usual hours. I just want to start this thread to form a progression group in the European timezone. If you are from GMT or CET or something near, just reply here and introduce yourself.
I have played Everquest from 2003 to 2005 (until Everquest II came out) on the German server Kael Drakkal (which is gone now). I just created a Necro on Luclin which is Level 4 currently (and named Mohanos). Since 2005 I play EQ2, but I like the idea of Nostalgia. For me Tuesday or Thursday from 8pm through 11pm CET would work best.

As mentioned, I'd be happy to join in on an EU timed group (or weekend group). If you get enough replies then I'll go and repurchase the game (might as well as my current copy is about 6 expansions out of date). I'll keep an eye on the thread.

I can play EU times a lot. My job times fluctuate between AM and PM shifts...so I can definitely do it some days.

Perhaps a weekend day? Would that work for anyone? That would allow a lot of time zones to find a good time. Of course weekends are busy for a lot of people (me included), but it might work.

Currently I play my Necro in Nectulos. I managed to find the Necromancer guild in Neriac and got the quest for the newbie armor there. Yesterday I dinged level 5 and went to the commonlands. It was funny to see that zone again. But I forgot that dark elves are KOS by some of the merchants there, so I was back in Neriak very fast. Now I plan to farm the indigents for the newbie armor in Neriak. Anyone who want's to join me is welcome. This evening I won't log in, because I will raid in EQ2. But I plan to be back at the weekend.
I am not sure If I can spare a weekend day regularly, but one or two times, just to meet each other in-game you would be fine. What about Saturday evening ?

Hey All!
Being an Old school nostalgic forever wanting to restard EQ back in 98 by frustration of today's MMORPG, I'd love to play with you if the offer still stands.
Just have to download the game and recreate an account.
I used to be a monk and wizard back in the days where Velious was the Hot Stuff and Luclin a vague mysterious place!
I can play a cleric for a change, I just hope there will be players to group with at the begining!
Cheers!
A.

Since the tutorial is apparently shared by all servers, there's usually plenty of people to play with up through 10. After that, grab who ever is on for some fun
The Tuesday group is at level 20, the Friday group is at 30, the Euro group is still gathering people to get going. It should be pretty easy to get to 15 or so, and if you see me on, I'll be more than glad to help out.
Clerics can always find groups

Great! A new Face! Welcome Absolum.
I maintain the Progression group status in my original post at the top. If someone wants me to correct or add anything, just post it here. I think we will all roll new characters when the group starts. But It would be good to create one just now to become familiar with the game again.
I posted some advertisements on German EQ2 boards. @Rooks: can you do the same on some UK based boads, if they exists? I am not sure If it is allowed to post this to the official EQ forum. I haven't seen any guild recruitment posts there.

hi all
i discovered Mohanos' thread in a German EQ-forum and liked this great idea from the very first word I read about it!
I played EQ maaaany years ago on Kael Drakkal until ... hmmm.. ldon or something around this. Then after server merge to Antonius Bayle i played a few weeks again, but with all these new expansions and all my friends 20 lvls higher i soon learned to hate the game or maybe just the progression of it. So I am a huge fan of old content, especially Velious (with the crystal caverns as the best zone ever
) and it would be my pleasure to join your new group.
I do not really like the idea of a game-day on weekend, but if its most convenient for the rest of the group, i would try it..
everything between monday and wednesday is fine with me, thursday and sunday are still ok..
My chars were a paladess, a shaman and a wizard.. but as i haven't played for a long time, i don't know, if i can handle a shaman or tank.. maybe i should start with a wizard or sth like that.. But again, i would consider any class, if the group is in need of one class especially.
As mentioned on that German platform, i would prefer AB, but if there are more people interested in Luclin, i would try to refresh my broken English into a gaming-able one
I will try to restart the game on thursday - lets hope everythings going fine. i will also have a look for a cheap package of all those expansions, just in case we want to try some later content..
so long

Welcome Lexira! Great that you made it to this Forum. Going to Antonius Bayle was my "Plan B" when it's not possible to fill a group on Luclin. So it's still an Option for me. Perhaps we should create an outpot on AB, because it would be easier to find europeans there.
But we shouldn't neglect the advantages on playing on Luclin:
There is already a guild with two working groups
The people here are really cute and they share the same philosophy.
Luclin seems to be a good server, it looks always "filled", even on european hours.
It's cool to be in an international guild.
So even If we end up on AB finally, we should stay a part of the Nostalgia-Project. And we should stick with the english language to be open to international players.
Regarding the cheap package with all expansions: I have bought the "Echos Of Faydware" download version. It includes all other expansion and costs only 30 EUR (including all taxes) if you pay in Dollars. You can also look at this page:
http://eqplayers.station.sony.com/content.vm?page=Download
There you get the client software for nothing (but it lacks about 6 expansions). Don't forget to join the nostalgia channel when you go online.
