Here's all the info about the new Living Legacy event, including the Defiant armor:

http://livinglegacy.station.sony.com/

Every account is being reactivated for the summer, hot zones given even MORE experience, fantastic armor will be dropping (we know!).

Keep an eye out for future Nostalgians. Now's the time when people who have been thinking about taking part in what we're doing might take the plunge.

I'll be writing up some more thoughts about this later, but I'm pretty excited about it. EQ1 and EQ2 definitely deserve more people. There is still no play experience like EQ1 anywhere.

Uber MMO blogger and fellow Massively cohort Cameron Sorden gave us a really cool plug as part of his EQ Living Legacy write-up. Thanks, Cameron!

Very nice indeed!

I saw the extra stuff in my /claim window... I had no idea what it was.

I knew Gnewton's popularity would grow... but I didn't think he'd achieve LIVING LEGEND status quite yet!\

(HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

I just couldn't resist!  Grin   Anyway, I'm having a blast so far and the journey wouldn't be the same with out all of you!

The only "bad" part I see - or the only bad part I see people talking about in any case. Is how the new subscribers get all this free stuff, where the faithful ones... only get to partake in a handful of it, and don't get nearly as many of the /claim items as everyone else. It's almost a shame we started a month early as opposed to starting right now.

I just logged in my son's long-dormant EQ account and did a /claim... they have some nice stuff waiting for them. I don't have any inactive EQ2 accounts to try on, alas.

Oh BTW Star, I put some crafting stuff, pelts and the like, in the guild bank for you.

I saw the items hon *hugs* Thank you very much. Moved bank around this morning before EQ2 / EQ1 / VG decided to hate me and every account associated with me..

Oh.. and really wish we were getting the free two months of play that all the 'new' subscribers are getting... bleh!

The only thing I wish they had as part of this is FREE SERVER moves!!

My second account has been defunct for about a month, but I have been thinking of re-upping it. This freebieness through July is AWESOME! I immediately logged in and checked out the stuff I have on my 64 mage on Quellious. LOTS of quest items for the lengthier quests, that I never finished. Hrmms.....

I checked out the claims on EQ1 and they are very nice. I'm thinking about starting up a Mage or a Rogue on account two, and having him available to us if we need extra DPS on nights we don't need a druid. I figure I would level him up to 51 within the time frame (easily) and then claim the items for level 51 Defiant gear. I'm sneaky like that. Still debating that.

EQ2 didn't have much by way of claims that excited me. 12 characters = 12 claims (one for each) - 3 ADV XP Potions (55%), 3 TS XP Potions (55%), a "tour of Norrath" Item that will teleport you to a level appropriate zone, a backpack with 15% weight reduction, a 3 shot makeover mirror, and I think that was it. I'll double check on Autumnmyst tonight.

I say not much, because I have stacks of all those things (minus the teleport item) sitting in my claim bin from Veteran Rewards that I have never used. Still, I'm probably going to log through each of my characters on that account and /claim them for each before the time frame runs out.

I'm more interested in the free items we get from the next expansion if we do turn the account over to a fully paying account, which I was planning on doing anyway. Nice to get a pretty reward for something I was going to do anyway.

And I agree with Star. I feel like my LOYAL account that has never been turned off ever, and has been paying for Full Station Access since it went live, is getting the shaft. I didn't see anything to claim on it for EQ2. Didn't log into Malfi/Luclin last night to see if he had anything to claim in EQ1.

Nor will you, Malfi. Loyal folks don't get rewarded for this aside from the general world drops, and the 25% bonus to exp.

Ah well. Suppose we  should all bow down and be thankful that they're trying to get people back to the game.
Not like we didn't bring back 12+ people in our own little way..

*grumbles*

Sorry, I'm still bitter over the whole "Error: Operation timed out" bug that's going around + this.

I absolutely agree. I can't understand why free server moves weren't part of the deal. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Another blogger wonders why current subscribers get nothing while new people have to rent pack horses to carry all their loots away -- http://mmomentofzen.blogspot.com/2008/06/living-legacy.html

I guess I do feel a little resentful.

This is very interesting. I have two EQ accounts inactive and 2 EQ2 accounts inactive so I might consider a re-install. The "have to group" thing is putting me off though, I can't imagine just grouping my way up again Smiley

Grouping is fun if you have people to group with. That's really the whole point of the Nostalgia guild -- having a group when you want one.

I doubt I would play EQ or EQ2 if I didn't need to group. Playing a MMO solo bores me.
