Hi! We have currently filled our two progression groups. If there is enough interest, then we'll start a third. If you're at all interested in just joining for guild chat or just to play at your own pace or in case we get enough for a third group (very likely), we'd love to have you!

Our current needs will always be listed over here.

Hi everyone, this is actually my second 'nostaligia' group.  A few of us tried it last September, I was the only one of the group that never played before (I went the path of Anarchy Online instead of EQ originally).  Unfortunately that group ended because we only had 4 people and two of the members time zone differences conflicted so much that we could only play 1 hour a night with both of them.  As luck would happen, we played on the Luclin server and so I had my level 11 monk sitting here all this time.  Looking forward to exploring this world with you.  I seem to have a steep learning curve ahead of me though lol, this interface is way different than what I'm used to.  See you all around!

Welcome Gozad!

I know Gozad from Vanguard, where he plays a 50 ranger in my guild over there - that, and the fact that he's from Toronto (that's THREE Canadians now, watch out) makes him a perfect fit for Nostalgia right there Wink

Hello
Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm interested to join Smiley

I played EQ from 1999-2004, after that I played EQ2 and Vanguard (currently playing EQ2, but mainly raiding). This nostalgia guild sounds like an excellent idea to get back into the game Smiley I see a lot of things have changed since last time I played.

I have not decided what class to be yet, but I'm very sure it will be a caster (probably wizard or magician, maybe a druid)...

I've been reading about your venture for the last few days, it's a great idea. I left the game a few years back and have often considered a return visit. However, I'm in the UK so sadly that prevents me from joining your band of adventurers (7pm US time is 1am here). If you ever start up an off-peak or more Euro-friendly timezone group then look me up Cheesy Good luck in Norrath.

We have another Brit in the guild, and he also can't group with us because of the hated time difference (See Cory Doctorow's Eastern Standard Tribe for a cool take on this). But perhaps you and he could group Smiley And some of our members are available during the NA day.

Thanks but I think the appeal of what you are doing is that you have complete groups and that are working towards a common cause at organised time (great for someone like myself who has a full-time job and is generally very busy). I recall that EQ is very much a groupers game and demands enough people for regular groups so logging on and hoping someone is around to group with isn't going to work. Grouping is one of EQ's strongest selling points but also it's strongest weakness. At the time I left (end of 2005) I was complaining about the lack of soloable content and I used to be LFG for ages (you can't just have a group of any 6 people in EQ, you needed the right class mix).

Anyway, I'll continue to read the blog and get my fix of EQ nostalgia like that. I wonder if Pongo is still in the game? Smiley As before, if you ever do start up another group that's on a euro-friendly schedule then look me up and I'll buy the game in a second Smiley

It's true, one of the absolute best things about NtG is that we KNOW we have a group to see the cool things. It is literally impossible to enjoy a lot of the content unless you bring your own group. Well, we bring our own group.

We'd love to have a Euro group, but to do that, we need Euros in the guild -- or someone who is willing to anchor that sort of group. If we do find someone like that, you can be sure we'll be putting the word out far and wide to fill it.

My wife and I are both readers of your blog and being long time EQ players - we played for 6 years starting in 99, in fact that's how we met - we were both interested in going back and having a look at the old stomping grounds. We'd both be interested in joining up with you folks. We could play either Tuesday or Friday but being on central time we wouldn't be able to get on until closer to 7:00 CST / 8:00 EST. Even if we can't make it into the groups due to timing issue we'd definitely be interested in joining the guild to have someone to chat with.

We both started a couple of different characters this past weekend, she has a druid and beastlord and I have a mage and necro, though I'd be willing to switch around if something else is needed.

We have every week had plenty of room for people to join in, so I don't think there will be a problem coming a little later! We see who shows and just make groups from that; it's all very casual, and look forward to grouping with you!

Always looking for new folks!

We have a lower level (25-ish) group running on Tuesdays, and the 35-ish one running on Fridays. There's also a EU group starting up which you may want to check in to if your days are free; they would probably meet in the late morning or early afternoon depending on where you live in.

Welcome and see you online Smiley I'll be on as soon as I get back from picking up my sister and will be happy to invite you to the guild if someone else hasn't already done so.
