It's an absolutely wonderful game.  SOOOOO much depth.

I don't want this to deter you... but it definitely has a learning curve.  Go through the tutorial and take it easy for a while.

Go to mapfiend.net and create an account.  Download the entire EQ map pack... it is a lifesaver.  And like I said, log into the nostalgia chat channel and don't be afraid to ask questions in the general channel (as well as the nostalgia channel).

Once you get the hang of it, EQ is a HUGE world with so, so much to do.

Greetings ! I am returning to EQ after about 22 month break an am interested in joining your guild (ad on eqlive caught my eye).Kicking it in the old world zones and progressing with close groups sounds like a blast.I am willing to help in any way i can. I currently play Rayzr (44 rogue) and a Soolo 46 necro (gnome). I usual;y play nightly from 5-10pm est during the week and as long as i can on the weekends starting friday night. Right now i spend most of my non group time farming and working tradeskills. Thats most of the time right now cause finding 30-50's groups are all but imossible.Rest of the time I spend creating and trying new character/class combos looking for something new i like. Well i hush now and i appreciate your consideration.THANKS Smiley

Hello, Rayzr!

We'd be glad to have you in any of our groups Smiley There's often someone around (do /join nostalgia -- the Nostalgia channel is our cross-server, cross-game chat channel), so if you need a group or just want to hang out and nobody's around -- there is nearly always someone around in channel.

Tonight (Tuesday) is our level 35 group, which you're a little high for. Friday is our level-cap group, currently holding at 52, and we're going to be trying Lord Nagafen and Lady Vox and you are absolutely welcome to bring either of your characters to that. It's a raid, so the more, the merrier Smiley

Welcome to Nostalgia!

I have a night job so when I get on, it's usually late (unless it's the weekend, or Tuesday and Friday, the Nostalgia nights), but there's usually someone around in the channel, and we'll all be on tonight for our low level adventure night.

Hello all,

I played and raided within Everquest shortly after release through Planes of Power and a little into Gates of Discord.  At the time, and for various reasons, I only played some of the GoD expansion because I was given a free expansion code as a guide for the Euro servers but left shortly thereafter for DAoC.

Regardless, I have had an increasingly greater interest to rejoin Everquest lately.  I am currently playing World of Warcraft (since release) and have become more and more bored with it, its lack of challenge, and its immature player base.  Through what limited sites I can view here at work I stumbled upon posts about how to make EQ Classic better, the Living Legacy promotion, and your website.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited learning of this had made me!

I am curious though, what kind of server is Luclin?  I would do the research myself but, again, I am limited to a small set of websites while at work.  Is it a classic server, progression, or does it include content from all of the expansions?

I intend to download the trial and expansions tonight and join all of you in the coming days if possible.  I live in the MST but have a fairly flexible play schedule.  I hope to hear from and see you all soon!

P.S.  Any direction to interface sites or other useful sites would be most welcome.  It has been years since I played last and I cannot remember where to go aside from Allakhazam.  Thanks!

P.P.S.  It seems my girlfriend is interested in doing this with me which is wonderful because I keep telling her how much more fun EQ was for me.

Heya Ryuichi Smiley

Glad to have you aboard!

I'm in the MST as well... where are you located?

Luclin is a classic server with access to all the content.

Um sites... Mapfiend.net is your savior (download the entire map pack for EQ... a true lifesaver), eqinterface.com for your interfaces... and of course Alla.

Make sure to /join nostalgia when you get in-game to talk to people Smiley

Sorry this was kinda short and to the point, heh... I'm at work as well and I need to get busy doing some things Smiley

Take care and we'll see you soon!!!

Well, generally Denver, Colorado but currently I am in Santa Fe, NM because of my job.  I hope to be back up there soon as Santa Fe is not at all my town of choice.  Your message may have been short but it was to the point and answered my questions so no worries.  Thanks!

Hello,

I am a long time EQ player that is looking to return after 6+ months away.

I found your guild via the EQ news while running the patcher for the 1st time in forever.  Shocked

The concept of your guild sounds awesome to me and I would be very interested in joining! I would have to move my characters to your server, but would gladly do so to be a part of the fun!

I don't remember all of my toons levels (I haven't completed the download yet), so I will do a best guess.

45 Druid
52 Cleric
53 Wizard (Kosak)
55 Necromancer
66 Shaman

Please let me know what I need to do.

I look forward to hearing from you!  Smiley

Hi, Kosak!

We'd love to have you. We currently have capped our levels (100% AA) at level 52 while we take down Vox and Naggy and explore some cool places before we move up to 55 and keep on exploring. You have both a druid and a cleric 52 or below, and I have to admit, we'd love to have another healer. We just had both a druid and a cleric move on to other games. I think we would love to get to a point where we could be occasionally, casually, raiding -- nothing big, just old, fun raids -- and healers is always a nice thing to have.

Looking forward to seeing you in game!

I'm on all night Tuesdays and Fridays and now and then during the week Smiley

Hello Nostalgia,
I saw your guild info on the Norrathian recruitment site and what your doing is exactly why i came back to EQ after a few years hiatus, played EQ2,WoW,Vanguard and LoTR, only to come back to EQ1. I would love to progress through the older content with you. I played an Enchanter up to level 67 on the Tribunal server, so i started one on Luclin 3 weeks ago and im level 35 now and would like to join up for the fun, hope you have room for me somewhere, anywhere is fine.
Thanks,

Heyla Mantis!  I was on the Tribunal for years as Loredena (warrior) and Serenya (cleric) primarily; first in White Wolf Clan, then The Revellers.  Just wondering if I might have known your chanter -- who did you play?

Hiya! The Tuesday group is at about your level, I think it would be a perfect match if you could make it Tuesdays Smiley We're currently exploring the Tower of Frozen Shadow; we'll be starting on Floor 3 next week. Our Friday group is locked at 52, and there's no issue with playing in both groups -- a lot of us do. We'll be killing dragons and exploring the low-50s dungeons until we get all the epic pieces we need (red scale and burned book from Naggy, white scale and frozen book on Vox). After that we'll probably do Karnor's Castle, Veksar; step up to 55 for Chardok and deeper Veksar; and then lastly to 60 and Howling Stones, Old Sebilis, and Sleeper's Tomb. I don't have any plans for after that but we'll see what we end up with, by then summer will be over and we may be able to gear up and do some more raiding. I'd love to do a Plane of Sky raid. I'd also like to do Trakanon and some Kael bosses, but since they can be soloed now, that doesn't seem realistic.

Anyway, welcome aboard Smiley Join the nostalgia channel (/join nostalgia) and bug peeps there for a guild invite. The whole crowd should be on Luclin tomorrow night for possible dragons or possible dungeon crawling depending on Naggy's survival. You're certainly welcome to come along no matter what level you are!

Thanks for the invite and the Raid info, Tuesdays in ToFS sounds fun, i would love to eventually go to Plane of Sky also, iv'e been to Fear and Hate too many times to count but no one ever wanted to do Sky, looking foward to going there if it happens. Anyways count me in for the Tuesdays till i can level like a freak and tag along on Fridays.  Smiley

Hello all,

I played EQ from about 1999-2002, I was on the Tunare server with a level 51 Dwarf Cleric, and several low 30 to mid level 20 characters as well. Anyway I used to play all the time, and just kind of lost interest somewhere along the way. As of recently I have tried to get back into MMO's and just cant seem to find one that satisfied me quite like the original EQ. I have had a random urge to start playing again, I see that the last post on this forum thread was from July. Are you guys still around? If so I would be interested in trying to get back into the game with you all. Nice to see there are still some EQ'ers out there.

Best Regards

We're still around, but we're only active on day a week, and even that is pretty iffy these days. Warhammer, AoC and the continued lure of EQ2 and other games are taking up people's time. We're just running the level 60 group on Fridays now. If you have a level 55-65, we'd love to have you join us Fridays Smiley

I do see a few guilds on Luclin recruiting people of all levels, don't know about the others -- but if you just want to hang out with the Nostalgia crew, join the Nostalgia channel -- eq1.luclin.nostalgia -- and say hello!
